Why I Skipped Dinner with My Brother

Hello Dear One!

 

I thought to share a very recent story that might showcase the win win nature of Fat Burning.

 

I purchased tickets to a comedy show for my brother and I for Christmas (what DO you give to loved ones??).

 

We went to the earlier show. 

 

He had a drink.  I did not.

 

We went out for dinner after. 

 

He ate.  I did not.

 

WHY.

 

Regarding alcohol - less is truly more in my world nowadays.

 

I think drinking makes sense when you really want to and/or something is super celebratory (holidays, big parties).

 

I pay such a notable price when I drink (feel bloated, spiked hunger later in night, more tired and feel crappy the next day), plus there's ALL the understood consequences (POISON for the body, sped up aging, and the ability to NOT feel as much JOY in the everyday).

 

 

Alcohol increasingly makes less and less sense to me - and as a result I partake less and less as a result.

 

But not eating when out with someone else who's eating?

 

Truth is I should've planed to have a later dinner with my brother, as I honestly think that would've been more fun (next time!).

 

But since I had already eaten earlier - it didn't make sense for any part of my body or brain to eat again.

 

It would've been EASIER to go along with all the encouragement and expectation to HAVE SOMETHING - but it actually didn't, because I DID NOT WANT TO.

 

My inner resolve has slowly grown over time, and though I still do things that I wish I hadn't after the fact in the realm of Fat Loss and Fitness, the best governing force that I lean on time and again is honoring my TRUTH and steering away from REGRET.

 

 

A newish FAt Burner was recently away on vacation, and as we had periodic contact throughout her time at sea - my main encouragement was, "Do what you want.  Don't do what you don't want.".

 

It would've been so easy to order something sexy with my brother (chili and cornbread = YES PLEASE!).  To get something small.  To try the bites offered of my brother's food.  To get a drink.  To try a sip of his drink...

 

But I kept saying NO because I didn't WANT it, and it wasn't worth it.

 

Every time we consume something our blood sugar rises.

 

Regardless of WHAT (besides just fat = butter, oil, or heavy cream) or HOW MUCH.

 

Every time our blood sugar rises insulin is released.

 

Insulin STORES FAT and also BLOCKS FAT from being BURNED for ENERGY.

 

I don't know about anyone else  - but I have some lean goals for this New Year.

 

And if you want to more QUICKLY move the needle forwards on them, don't deviate from FORWARD when you don't even care about the thing you're consuming.

 

WANT the thing that's causing you to color outside of the lines.

 

 

Not simply because other people expect you to do it.

 

They'll be fine (like my brother).

 

And I was fine too.

 

And lighter this morning, while feeling completely regret free.

 

These moments of opportunity we have to stand for ourselves makes us STRONGER in every way.

 

More disciplined. Possessing better boundaries.  Stronger at keeping commitments. More trust and faith in ourselves.  AND it also happens to literally strengthen the mode of Fat Burning.

 

The mantra for AA is also applicable here.

 

One day at a time.

 

And really one moment at a time.

 

Often when we make a point to stick to what we decided for our desired outcome - we move forward exponentially faster due to that one choice.

 

It's so worth it.

 

You're so worth it.

 

And having what you want FASTER is so worth it.

 

 

Have the ___ on your next Carb Feast.

 

Or when you REALLY need and want it.

 

That's ok!

 

But not when you don't.

 

Ok?
