Hello Dear One!
Thought to mention some plain and USEFUL facts on the topic of hunger and weight loss.
#1. ALWAYS HUNGRY
If you actually believe you NEED to be hungry in order to lose weight - that is NOT true.
Obviously a caloric deficit is PART of the equation (hormones are the other) but NO ONE needs to go hungry in order to move the needle.
If the body is ALWAYS hungry something WILL give.
Not only is it mentally fatiguing to be in a constant state of wanting, but it's also physiologically STRESSFUL.
Because our bodies are so hard wired to make sure we DON'T DIE - if it actually thinks you're at risk, it will MAKE YOU EAT.
And more than likely the sugary, fatty, quick access to energy offering it most desires.
This is 100% against the effort and ends up playing out to be a never ending back and forth swing of restricting, breaking, binging, and then getting back on the horse and simply, "trying harder".
NO THANK YOU.
So a way to ensure that you DO get full with a smaller, and supportive, caloric load please prioritize: protein, fiber, and fat.
That winning combo will work with any eating plan and help to get, and keep, you full!
#2. GET A LITLE HUNGRY
Now this may sound antithetical to what I was just preaching, but please hear me out.
A SUPER effective way to comfortably SPEED UP WEIGHT LOSS is to allow yourself to get a LITTLE bit hungry before your next meal.
A feeling of emptiness. Having your stomach growl a bit. Clearly being ready for food.
(and I am NOT talking about feeling faint, weak, or having PAIN in your belly - nothing extreme.)
Why this is effective for fast tracking weight loss is because when we get a BIT hungry our body goes into action.
Because it's so hard wired to make sure you DON'T DIE it's always making sure that our, "levels", of any given thing are within a happy margin.
We experience that with being too cold (shivering), too hot (sweating), needing sleep (yawn, slowed thinking), and countless other functions that are being managed without our knowing - and blood sugar is one of them.
When we get a bit hungry and our blood sugar lowers a BIT, our body will secrete a FAT RELEASING hormone called GLUCAGON.
Glucagon mobilizes fat from cells, converts it to glucose and puts it into the blood stream to ENSURE our blood sugar stays within a safe and healthy margin.
This is a natural function that our bodies do to ensure we have energy and can function even when we might dip slightly below where our blood sugar should ideally be.
This technique is SUPER EASY for Fat Burners to do (as our blood sugar plays LESS of a part in when we need to eat), but EVERYONE is wired to do this for survival.
