Ok!  Here's the rest of the story for the rest of your body.

 

These are some great fundamentals for when you are doing ANYTHING involving LOAD or TIME with your upper half.

 

PICK UP YOUR CHEST

 

This is such a simple and useful cue to get you to stand up straight.

 

This easily shifts our head back over our shoulders utilizing less movements and less EFFORT to do so.

 

 

LOOK FORWARD

 

Your body will follow where your eyes go, so if you don't want your head/neck/rounded back all moving towards the earth...DON'T LOOK DOWN!

 

 

PACKING YOUR SHOULDERS

 

This is a CRAZY useful assist to enable you to protect your shoulders, generate more power, and reinforce building muscles in a more aligned structure.

 

It's literally amazing to feel the difference doing ANY move with your shoulders packed as it can take stress off of all joints below (elbows, wrists, fingers/thumbs) when done with intention.

 

Here's a demo and explanation as how to do this life changing technique.

 

 

Plus any move will feel so much easier when there's so much of you casually taking over more of the work.

 

I also wished to show quick display of me doing spider man push-ups during one of my private yoga sessions using all these prompts.

 

I make a point to pack my shoulders and deliberately use my back over my chest/shoulders so as not to reinforce rounding or to stress that area out.

 

Many of you know that I dislocated my right shoulder 8 years ago, so it's something I'm conscious about protecting AND not having limit me!

 

And when I pack my shoulders I am enabling BOTH!

 

 

So check out these cues when you're next using your body in a situation that involves LOAD and/or extended TIME.
